How the HotBuckDraw^TM Roller helped bag my heaviest 8-point buck ever!

I am a lifetime hunter.  Like most of us, I rarely get ready for deer hunting, without forgetting something!  Sometimes I make it all the way into my deer stand, only to realize I have forgotten a key item! Will that mistake ruin my hunt? 

After the hunt where I bagged this amazing 8-point buck, I will never forget to take my HotBuckDraw trail maker with me! 

I was getting ready for an evening hunt. I was thinking about the previous morning when my son, Russell, reported that he had seen a huge buck but couldn’t get him close enough for a shot!  It was his misfortune that Russell had forgotten to take his HotBuckDraw roller! 

I made sure that I had mine and had filled the interior tank with fresh scent! Carefully checking the wind direction, I chose a tree stand about 300 yards from a fresh ground scrape, which looked promising.   Placing my roller in the center of the buck scrape, l sprayed all sixteen felt pads with fresh scent.  I easily pulled my scent-roller behind me as it was gently rolling and turning behind me as it layed down fresh scent with every rotation all the way to a tree approximately 30 yards in front of my stand.  Seemed like the ideal condition to bag a big buck! 

I then removed the drag line and placed my roller on a tree branch as high as I could reach, with the fill plug facing down so that it would act as a dripper to ensure the buck stopped there!  Once in my tree stand I began carefully watching the trail I had created with the HBD roller. Around an hour before sunset I caught a glimpse of a huge buck nosing the scent trail with great interest. Patiently I watched him with his nose to the ground. He followed the fresh scent trail all the way from the scrape to the spot where I placed the roller in the tree!

My heart was pounding fiercely as I watched him with his nose to the ground slow walk his way to the firing zone!  He was ideally placed just 30 yards away with a perfect profile.  I got him with a single broadside shot that dropped him like a rock!! I waited for about an hour to make sure he was dead before getting out of the stand and onto on the ground.  Finally my heart had a chance to stop racing!  I slowly walked over to him. Up close he was so large that I was shocked with joy!! The buck measured 145 inches and tipped the scales at just over 200 pounds.  The largest 8-point buck I have ever bagged! 

From that day forward, neither I, nor Russell ever went to the woods without our HotBuckDraw (HBD) roller!! It has never let us down and we are sure you will find it as vital a tool for hunting as we do!
